Shades of Grey --- break ---

Depressions and Delta Goodrem's new album (Mistaken Identity).
Did not realise that shades of grey was one of her lyrics
until I started typing it up.
The lyric cut straight to the core of my mood.

When I woke the world was alive,
With colour so vivid.
Each green and blue,
Painted as from a child's brush,
Thick, rich and bright.
Screaming of colour, life and brightness,
Life so loud,
A sensory thundering waterfall to the ear,
A life of opportunity,
A life of what could be.

But that was this morning,
Shafts of life, light turn to dust,
The flowers once held,
Shatter into fragments of dreams,
Life itself is stolen,
Deprived of succour, I bleed,
Grey blood, across grey skin,
Watched by my now grey eyes,
The blue evaporating in a second,
Leaving only grey,
I look up with empty grey eyes,
Grey clouds scream by,
I rage against my sorrow,
Shouting into the greyness,
I beg for colour,
Please,
Save me from another grey dawn,
Bring my your gorgeous greens,
Your ruby reds,
Your bliss felt blues,
I had them once,
But they slipped away,
Into shades of grey.
